Bridlington Town and the club's local paper, the Free Press, got together to produce an April Fool that would have sent the Seasiders' supporters completely dotty. In an exclusive on the paper's website (

Chairman Peter Smurthwaite, pictured left with the strip, told the Free Press: "We thought today, April 1, was the ideal day to give the Queensgate fans their first look at our polka dot kit.
"I think we will be the first club in the country to have such a radical and eye-catching design. We are just waiting to see if we can get Clearasil to sponsor it."
Eagle-eyed fans, though, quickly realised that it was an April Fool and one that knocked spots off the rest of the day's fake stories.
